The intense battle took place at Candidates Chess Tournament in Toronto where Gukesh shattered Garry Kasparov’s decades-old record at 17 years, 10 months and 24 days old. This remarkable accomplishment not only solidifies his status as an emerging force in global chess but also represents an important milestone for Indian chess.
That he rose to become one of the best is nothing short of spectacular for Gukesh. He who has overcome all odds against some tough contenders claiming his place as highly esteemed contender. All eyes are now on him since he will have to play Ding Liren from China who is currently world champion in a match at the end of this year.
